Just what does "In Transit" mean anyway?

  • You are seriously not unboxing in solidarity with us? Get over it. Tell us how it doesnt work right haha. Im thinking you are just busy. If mine arrived this week I wouldnt touch it. I have a job or two. Its the feeling of being ripped off and decieved. Not the missing of the amp.

    I think yu're talking to me :-) .
No, I'm not busy. I'm 65 and retired. Just didn't open the box yet.

Likely to do it either this afternoon or tomorrow. :-)
It'll take me a few days to familiarize with it (you know, we elders take longer for these things ;-) ), and then I'll tell you my impressions. :-)

PS: unboxed it. Smaller than expected. Gave it a little try "as is". Clean sound very good for my taste, "glassy" more or less ok, not a big fun of "crunch", "high gain" and "metal" so I'll wait until I find something more of my taste from ToneCloud (later). Now I'm trying to understand how to download the PreSonus Studio One software, and it looks like it's the Prime version, which would have been free anyway. Let's see what happens when I get it registered and unlocked... But I have to download it first. :-D
And I'd like to understand whether it's so much better than GarageBand or not. I don't use those softwares much... But could start learning. :-D
Also downloaded the Spark App on my Android phone, now I'm looking for it in the Apple Store to use it on my MacBook Pro (way better, at least for my old eyes). :-)

PPS: Doesn't seem to have any "Positive Grid Spark App" on the Apple App Store... :-o

  • @drbaroni thanks very much for your response. It is kind of exciting that you can pull it out of the box and get a good clean sound. I’m hoping I can use it to practice in an entertaining way without revealing To any band or human that I am probably the worst player on this forum, at least over age 5.

I am 49 and my wife is out of town, so I should have time, but not holding my breath for it to come.

I am betting the downloading, syncing, etc. problems are going to be the Achilles’ heel here. I like to fiddle with that stuff, but not when it gets in the way of a limiting 15 minute time block for practice.

Last time I was on the Apple store there was more than one “spark” app. I found the right one easily, although I would have no idea how to use it with any other hardware , which is supposedly possible.

    Cheers and enjoy

  • @drbaroni The app is "Spark Amp" but it's not available for MacBookPro -- it's only iOS, not OSX.

Thanks, I just thought that as the iOS and OSX are more and more integrated it could have worked on OSX as well. :-)
I'll wait for a OSX version or keep using the Android version. :-)
