IOS stability issues

Hi All- I joined the world of IOS guitar effects about six weeks ago, before the release of BFX 2 (which I still do not own), so these comments relate to the original BFX IOS...
I’m using an iPad 7 with the latest app release so I did not expect any issues running BFX. However, I ran into the infamous IAA buzzsaw early on and after a few instances of that, an iPad Settings reset and reading your posts I learned to avoid IAA altogether from within BFX. Using BFX alongside GarageBand within Audiobus caused a crash or two and now it seems my iPad will crash over almost anything and seems to have gotten progressively worse. It is using IOS 13.4.1 and refuses to accept 13.5.1.
Questions are:
-has anyone else experienced a degradation of IOS performance and stability after starting to work with effects apps or BFX in particular?
-Is there anything to help right the ship, so to speak, such as a complete iPad reset?
-Will BFX2 help with stability?
-Is the PC version really the way to go for stability? Apps I work with are BFX, AmpliTube, Audiobus, and GarageBand. AU’s are LRC5 and Crystalline for now. Using Crystalline from within BFX also seems to be a stressor- crashed a couple of times there. Better thru AB.Thanks sooo much for your input!

- see above
- BFX2 appears to have improved, currently not enough time spent to say absolute level but better seems fair to say
- stability is often easier on larger machines but even then can become elusive at times looking for quick updates to help - there is more compatibility and choices on a computer then a tablet or phone, but mobile is handheld domain that keeps growing stronger
best of luck

Hi tafkad- re: the use of larger machines- although BFX and other IOS apps do an amazing job creating the sounds that they do, I’m still finding the sound to be less robust than what I can get from a hardware rig. Could just be the iRig HD2 audio interface too. Do you find that using a computer gives a boost to the sound vs an iOS device? Trying to see if the extra expense would be justified. Thanks, bf. -
@beforr honestly is more about your functionality needs - do you need to be mobile? if not no reason to buy a mobile tablet for it if you have a good computer and sorts that question out because if you need to be mobile you follow that choice
as for robust sounding either way I don't suspect any software to feel exactly like hardware but I do recommend getting a good USB soundcard that is NOT made for the mobile market - this is a gimmick and you get less quality cheap or overpriced functionality not warranted over decent cards that are affordable

Awesome, tafkad. Thanks so much for your reply. And thanks much for your attention, the attention of pipelineaudio and others who are so good with common sense advice. We do appreciate it!!
