Spark Amp Firmware v1.2.3.37 Beta
-
Hi Spark amp users,
Please feel free to try the new Spark amp firmware v1.2.3.37 beta below
Firmware v1.2.3.37 Beta Download
How to update the firmware on Spark?
Release notes:
- Fixed the issue "Loud noise when switching the presets via Spark app"
- Improved Bluetooth connection stability
-
@mike where are the not-beta firmware to download?
-
Update tool crashes a few seconds after clicking on the "check for update" button. I tried the MacOS version.
-
The firmware updater (Windows) seems stuck and is "not responding". I've always known that unplugging during a firmware update is a great way to create a 40W doorstop. Any ideas?
-
Just tried to update. The installer downloaded fine but it doesn't see the Spark amp. I keep getting "USB device not recognized" in Win10. Now what?
-
@bluesman55 That also happened to me the first update. Went into device manager and found it, cycled amp power and tried again and was successful.
-
I went ahead and closed the hung installer, cycled amp power. I figured if it didn't work I'd have a brick anyway. relaunched the installer and it was updated in seconds.
-
@giampiero-arnoni There is not an official update yet, thanks.
-
@alexf Could you let us know your osx version? Thanks
-
PG replied to my service request:
"If it is stuck you can disconnect it, it is fine it will just reset back to original firmware version. " -

That did the trick! Thank you.

Updated and working. Maybe you should mention that all your Android devices (in my case) should have bluetooth turned off, otherwise the Spark will not connect to the PC via USB because all connectivity is gone to bluetooth :-)
-
@lapickbiz Had the same problem. Make sure NO bluetooth device is active and near the Spark, otherwise it immediately connects to it and connectivity is blocked for other devices. After switching BT off on my smartphone and tablet, the updater connected as supposed to the Spark via USB \o/
-
@cyberart Good advice!
-
@lapickbiz Update went through now?
-
@cyberart Actually my second try went through in seconds without the bluetooth being disabled, but it's still a good idea.

Awesome \o/ I think it all depends if the Spark is already connected via BT or not. I'll check that out in detail when another Update comes along.

@mike MACOS Mojave 10.14.6
I saved the crash report. Let me know how you want me to get it to you. -
I tried both. The macOS-Updater crashed as described. No matter wheter with BT coupled or no. The Win-Version did the trick. Last update it was vice-versa ;-)

@Mike is there a fix in the works for the unnaturally heavy handed noise gate? That has to be my biggest complaint about the unit.
Thanks
