I'm trying to decide on a midi foot controller to use to select patches, individual effects and scenes in the upcoming version 2 of Bias FX mobile. My question is:

      • When the midi learn function is used with a midi foot controller connected via the audio interface, does it matter whether the midi foot controller is sending PC or CC messages? What I mean is, let's say a midi foot controller such as the Midi Commander is pre-configured with two sets of 4 switches - 4 assigned to send PC messages, and 4 CC messages, with another two switches for bank up/down, and two expression pedals, sending CC messages - with this setup would I be restricted to only being able to select 1 bank of 4 presets at a time, and 4 FX via CC messages, or can Bias FX mobile be configured to interpret midi information any way I need it to?

      • I understand that instead of patches, Bias FX2 mobile has scenes, so how could a midi foot controller be set up to work in this way?

The pedal you use will be what you configure - Mobile BFX is midi ready (Mobile BFX2 is not midi ready yet) and responds to the midi commands sent to it (PC or CC) from your pedal. If you need to do PC changes you set them up on you pedal, if you need to send CC messages you set them up on your pedal as well. BFX interface has a few ways to select the Effect parameters you wish to work with, but look at this way it is not capable of programming your pedal or controlling it - it goes the other way around with the pedal doing the work you set it up to do.
