Headphone Volume Bias 600 watt Head
-
The headphone volume is almost inaudible even with volume turned all the way up. Moreover, every amp model sounds the same. I am using Audio Technical ATH-M50x headphones. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

@afpdbobhaley Can you try to backup and perform a hardware reset to see how it goes? Feel free to end us a request if you still failed to get it work. https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Felix, I will try today. Where are the instructions for backing up and a hardware reset?
Thank you,
Bob -
I did a factory reset and there is no improvement in volume or tone with my Audio Technica ATh M50x headphones.

What ended up being the problem? I just unboxed mine today and the volume issue/ malfunction is present on mine! -
Hi, I am currently having the exact same issue. Can anyone please help? Thanks

@bumkillaz I'm not sure if this is the same issue but:
I found the headphone output on the Bias Amp2 600W head to be quite low through AKG K271's which are normally great.
I also found the volume "low" on the Yamaha TH series and a Blackstar Core ID which I own.
I believe this is a deliberate design issue related to OH&S compliance but I may be wrong.
They aren't going to put a headphone amp in there that will
1/ Destroy your headphones
and
2/ Destroy your ears.
My solution has been to run the headphone out into a mini mixer like a Behringer Q802 where you can boost the headphone volume up as much as you like.
I don't believe you are going to get crushing volume from the stock headphone out socket.
But I guess check just to be sure:
Transformer section: Output is dimed
Preamp and power amp sections: Gain and Volume are all around 12:00 o'clock unless that's too overdriven.
Taking some compression off the Transformer section can add some "perceived" volume as well via increased attack.Good luck and I hope it helps
