@mike I'm curious as to why PG is putting the firmware on Google drive and not hosting it on your own domain. It seems like a big no no to me to ask people to download, run and execute firmware updates using random links online. This would be an easy way for anyone with malicious intent to start posting altered Google drive links to other 'firmwares'. As PG is in the software business, I would expect them to have a dedicated page on their own website that included firmware update instructions, and hosted the downloads on their own servers. That way I, and others, can have some faith that what am I downloading is an 'official' update.

Just to further my point, I have already seen several members in other threads on this forum directing people to Google drive links. All I would have to do is wait until someone asked for a link then direct them to my Google drive that had a file named ' firmware update.exe' Once they download and run I suddenly own all their data....

@mike Roughly how long should the Spark take to update to this??? Reason I ask is that I kicked off the update, the updater shows as 'Updating', the 5 LEDs on the Spark are blinking on and off...……. but it has been going for over 30 minutes now!!! Should it take this long?

@petef I checked out the firmware page Mike posted. Seems to me like they have released multiple firmware versions so far. But no mention if they can safely be skipped (ie can you go from oldest ver to current release without the middle updates). Also their page says to download the tool but no mention of where to aquire it. We need good, accurate documentation; that's software support 101

@edmit15 Yep, more info would be good! Spark had been blinking at me for an hour now, sure it does not take this long, but do I dare risk turning it off to try again????

Well, at over an hour and still 'Updating' I bit the bullet, turned everything off then tried again. Finished successfully in 10 seconds! ;) . Would really be nice to have some detailed instructions / release notes etc

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion, yes they can safely be skipped.
We have not released any firmware updater officially, only Beta versions.

Is there anyway to update the firmware without Mac or Windows, sorry we are a Linux/Chrome/Android only house?

                      Cheers,
                      Simon

@simon-3 There is currently not a way to update the firmware without a Mac or Win computer I'm afraid, thanks.

Well I'm spark out of luck then - i don't have a current computer, just the iPhone I run the spark app from.
Any joy for me in the future?

I still have no luck getting this to do anything on MacOS Catalina 10.15.5. Hopefully it works when its out of beta.

I tried to find some error that would indicate where the issue is. I see messages like "Spark 40 USB: family specific matching fails"

The USB audio interface is working fine, so my guess is still the OS not allowing unsigned kernel modules. If I click the button to update I don't get anything in the Console app happening, only GUI based messages when i switch to other apps (Debugging info I guess?)

@mike I couldnt get bluetooth to connect after updating to this version. I tried both the beta Ios app and the original. Updated firmwar back to original version with original ios app and it now works again. So will leave it there until an official version comes out

I finally updated as well to 1..1.3 (Windows 10/Android) I had to fight a little before beeing able to uderstand the process (find the updater tool and find the firmware file) My Spark was working fine honestly even before the update, I just tried this new one (don't see major changes)

I received my Spark Amp a month ago....but when I play some power chords it clipping. This firmware solves the problem? What it's new in this firmware? Why positive grid don't put the firmware on his official web site to download whit the release notes "what is new" as does the other company?
