Line out
-
Hey guys, I'm looking forward to buying this new amp, which seems amazing, but I'm wondering why you guys didn't include a line out, a 3/4' line out... I mean, I know there's the headphones output, but it would make a really nice addition if you include a line out to connect to a PA or a mixer... This is a really good amp, and I think there's a lot of potential asides from playing alone

Hey, omorales01,
You can use the Spark headphone out to an amp or mixing board. What you need is a Stereo to Mono Summing Cable with Resistors ( 3.5mm TRS to 1/4" TS ). Do not use a straight stereo to mono cable, you could mess up your Spark because of the load on the amp. I use a Stereo to Mono Summing Cable from Castline. I am running the headphone out from the Spark to a Quilter MicroBlock amp (flat EQ) with a 12" open back cab and the rig sounds great.

@gregory-snow Thanks for the tip...I just purchased the Summing Cable from Coastline.

@gregory-snow thanks Gregg, so, can i use a 1/4 to dual mono cable??

Hey omorales01, I'm not sure what you are asking about the 1/4 to dual mono cable. The Spark headphone out is 3.5mm TRS (TRS=Tip, Ring, Sleeve) and if you want to combine the stereo output and send it to a mono input, like TR, you need a summing cable or box using resistors to protect the power side of your Spark amp. If you want to go from 3.5mm TRS to a two channel input, like two RCA jacks, then you do not need the summing cable - you can use a straight cable like this: Hosa CMR-215 3.5 mm TRS to Dual RCA Stereo Breakout Cable

Could I safely use the mono cable below to go from the Spark headphone out to an amp or cab? I only want to hear my mono guitar output, not music or stereo.

@jonj33,
Yes, that cable will work and not cause damage, but you will only get one channel from the Spark and not the sum of left and right.... probably not a big deal sound wise. I have not tried using one channel, so you should post here if it sounds good. It sure costs a lot less than the summing cables. -
@gregory-snow easy enough to make a summing cable to what ever length you like
can have mono and still do stereo if you need to. a little soldering 2 resistors and youve got best of both . -

Quilter MicroBlock amp
Hi,
I know this is a old question, but I want to play the Spark amp through my Peavey Deltablues and you seem more knowledgeable about this.
I understand that there is a cable I could get but I am in the UK and I cant get anyone to make me a cable!
I also see that you use a Quilter Microbloc 45.
I have a number of boss pedals and a boss GT-100.
So I am wondering if you could advise me if any of these would work.
If I dont ask I wont know.Thanks

I am wondering if this cable will work:
Tisino 1/4 inch (6.35mm) TS Mono to 1/8 inch (3.5mm) TRS Stereo Interconnect Cable(Mono to Stereo)- 3.3 feet/1 Meter https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07K58VM48/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_zQSSFbSQKN43Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks!

@sadbttru
Hi Thanks for that.
I understand that I need a "Stereo to Mono Summing Cable that has Resistors.
Apparently the resistors are needed to protect the power side of the Spark amp!
Again thanks

I have a question maybe you could answer....I play through a 2x12 Electrovoice speaker loaded packed closed back cab ...a total beast ... that have their own individual 8 ohm line in's ( so I run 2 cables out from my Blacksrar into the back of the 2x12 for my live setup )
My question to you is if I were to run the Spark headphone jack OUT to the Cab inputs using this:
Would there be any danger of damaging the amp in your opinion?
