We've yet to receive an explanation as to who sent this message out and what exactly it was referring to.

Please explain exactly what "policy on BIAS FX 2's ToneCloud licensing" have PG changed ?

"Since the 2.1.9 release, we've changed the policy on BIAS FX 2's ToneCloud licensing.
The accessibility of the presets has been adjusted. From now on, the presets that contain BIAS Amp 2 content will be unavailable to those who do not own the respecting license. This is merely to reinforce the same principle across all additional contents (BIAS Amp 2, BIAS Pedal, Celestion, expansion packs) for BIAS FX 2."

@musical-alchemy well, it's very simple. someone realized that the users are furious and decided to withdraw from the original idea ... it will be difficult to explain this "change of mind" logically. the most important thing is that everything should be as before 😉

I have the same issue, I paid full price for Bias FX 2 Elite a few months ago and have been enjoying it including the stuff from the Tone Cloud but now....overnight...they no longer work. It feels like i am being forced to pay more money to use what I already had!....If this has been done once, it can be done again! Removing functionality in an 'upgrade' to make more money is scandalous!

                    @dhulston The fix is here.

There are many different threads in the Desktop Guitar Software category that have the fix posted as the latest post. You probably should look around first.

Sorry about the late reply but they seem to have hidden the 2.1.8
The latest I.m sure know by now is here.

Mariuszryszard, yes I agree it's good to see things are back to normal. However if I am ever to trust PG and invest more money in their products I need an explanation from management and more importantly a guarantee that something like this will never happen again.

They're free to change their policies anytime they so choose, however they are not free to take away functionality from existing users. If they 'change their policy' that should ONLY affect new users who knowingly are buying into those policies not those of us who have already invested large amounts of money to then have what we paid for diminished. The term for that is Bait-and-switch. Not a good way to build a loyal user base.

PG please step up to the plate and let us know that this will never happen again... and put that in writing.

I didn't see this question asked so....I have not done the update to 2.19 although the update prompt is clearly visible on my 2.18. Can I install the release of v2.1.10 over 2.18 or do I have to install 2.19, break the program, and then install 2.1.10 to recover?

@bluesman55 You can install right over 2.18. I personally like to uninstall the old versions and then install the new ones, but it's not necessary to do that.

@myxolydian interesting tidbit about in/un-installs this is another of Bias's phone home set and tells our account how many machines we have it installed on and sometimes it thinks two separate partitions are different machines like if you have a Mojave and a Catalina and can mess up things a little and one might need help getting their machine list cleared at some point

yea also you don't ever have to update no matter how badly that little orange facebookwannabe dot alert tempts you - yes also you can skip versions and wait for stability if you still feel the "need" to update and choose any version (you can go backward too easy - just keep one of these handy (85+ files):

that way if anything goes wrong you know you have done your risk management research and understand all - including the EULA for your investment, the one that says they can change whatever they want whenever they want...

                              and be happy haha

                                Hi all,

Long story short, we were just trying to fix the bug "Can't read Amp2 license in the presets"" , it's an issue about the BIAS Amp 2 amp menu in BIAS FX 2.

You can see the release note below:
                                https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024798051-BIAS-FX-2-Desktop-Update-History-Release-Notes

We did not know beforehand that the fix totally blocked the access to the presets that have Amp 2 amps (if you don't have a BIAS Amp 2 license).

The message you got from our support team was just an internal miscommunication. We did not intend to force anyone to purchase BIAS Amp 2.

                                Hope this explains

Hi All, there is a new v2.1.9 update on the download page now, you will have to uninstall v2.1.10 first to install this new update, stay safe.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I can't find the answer anywhere.

If I purchase Bias FX 2 Standard, am I still able to load presets from tonecloud that contain amps from pro and elite versions? Or will I be limited to only load presets that are compatible with the amps that come with standard?

@danielelliott3d with regards to BFX (not BAMP) you should be able to save/use presets that contain gear you have licensed - I can't see why anyone would think they get to use elite fx for less money while everyone else has to pay the full price, if this was the case I would have just bought BFX1 standard and never another app since it would have given me this same magical access to the "TONECLOUD" ooooooo scary

no worries if you buy it because you like the way it sounds who cares what you can access on a presets forum like tonecloaud, right? have fun

I do not like installing and uninstalling updates, Win10 is problematic enough as it is.

@musical-alchemy then just stop updating and complaining - v2.1.10 was a hotfix BETA even stated so and was never available through the in-app update - YOU came here and grabbed it now pay attention, the new official v2.1.9 is being circulated, had people just waited before ever updating this would not be an issue and you should know better you've been around
