Hi and question about noise when switching presets
-
Hi, I've been using the IOS BIAS FX and BIAS AMP for about three weeks, and I really like the apps.
I have them installed on an iPad Pro, and I'm using an iRig HD2 interface, connected to the lightning port, and I've been using both the headphone output and the amp output of the iRig HD2.
I feel good enough about this setup that I'd like to use it in a live situation, but I have one issue -
Whenever I switch presets, there is an audible moment of patch noise - both in the amp or through headphones, both with BIAS FX and BIAS AMP. And, regardless of whether the guitar volume is up or down.
This makes using this setup unworkable - have any of you experienced this, or know of a solution?
(Amplitube, which was free with the iRig, doesn't have this issue with patch noise when switching.)
Thanks!

I have a noise burst with Amplitube. I have given up pedal based preset switching and instead switch between ABY paths in tonestack, making the cleans and FX in tonestack and the amp in Bias as an IAA

@pipelineaudio hey bro. im working on a dual bias amp rig setup inside of tonestack.
In the A chain I have Bias AMP as IAA and then I have Fiddlicator as the IR loader
In the B chain I have Jamup Loaded with a Bias Amp and then Rooms! as the IR loader.
I can then switch from A to B to but to go back to A I have to pass through Y. Have you been able to disable the option for Y?

now the real trick for IOS users is going to be whether or not the bias amp model sounds the same in jamup vs bias amp as an IAA.
if it did...you could have both versions of jamup from the app store Jamup and Jamup pro.
This would actually allow you to host two Switchable instances of Bias AMPS.
Tonestack can route midi so if you wanted to you could set it so that the midi flows from tonestack to jamup and jamup pro and switch the presets and in jamup and just load them up with bias amp models.
Then all your FX can be switched in tonestack.
This would work best live if you were able to bake the IR into your bias amp model instead of relying on fiddlicator or rooms.

I have the switch control the mix knob between A and B, so that I only have to use 1 pedal to toggle

this thread may help you:
https://forum.positivegrid.com/topic/134/switching-time-latency-hardware-or-software/22For now I have given up changing patches during a song. I set one patch for each song and then I toggle on/off all overdrive/Fx pedals I need via a midi remote controller (in my case glab gsc4)
Basically I run a clean amp and then I add in front of it ovredrive pedals when I need dirt sounds
I really hope PG will fix these issues about patch switching as soon as possible.
IPad Pro + Bias fx for live is an amaizing solution in terms of portability and tone

@pipelineaudio yeah i only know conceptual stuff since I dont actually have a midi controller lolol
