      Forgive me but I need someone to explain to me to what IR refers. I see references but for the life of me I have no idea.

        @desertdrifter7 IR stands for Impulse Response.
        Here is a decent article to get you started on the understanding of what it is and what it can do for you.

          @myxolydian Thanks. I hate to admit it but it did kind of hurt my head reading the article. I have, up till now, avoided getting too much into the science of music. But if I understand it, IR is a way of re-recreating the sound nuances of equipment to include speakers and their enclosures. Two different models or two different brands of speakers/enclosures will not reproduce sound the same way.
