Spark Amps?
-
Hi all,
I saw a review recently on YouTube the new Spark amp and asked a question there but never received a response, a paid product reviewer not responding to questions surprise, surprise.
Anyway, it seemed that to any real use use of the amp was to use mobile phone and or tablet device and I don't have either, and don't want one for that matter. So are the abilities of this amp crippled by the non-use of a mobile device? Is there any PC based software and USB connection to use the device. Or, should I just relegate the idea of getting the Spark to the old circular filing cabinet?
Thankyou and Regards.

Vaughan, check out the support icon on the bottom of the Positive Grid home page and click on that, it will take you to the questions and manuals for each product including the Spark Amp and after you open the Spark Amp Section, click the General questions icon and check out Q 6 that may answer your question

@airbourne6 Will do thanks :)

I found the relevant questions.
Q: Can I export presets from BIAS FX 2 to Spark?
A: No, you can only download or save presets via the Spark app.Q: Is a desktop editor going to be available for Spark?
A: Only iOS/Android currently.So, it looks like creating presets using the desktop is a no go area even though Spark can be connected via USB.
Looks like I'll have to file the idea in the circular filing cabinet. Oh well I guess it's there loss. If they won't give me what I need and take my money, I guess I'll spend it elsewhere.
Thanks and Regards.

@vaughan-macegan well, there are emulators like BlueStacks that allow to run Androis apps on your PC. Don't know if they can connect to hardware like Bluetooth, though...
As much as I understand the frustration, I'd simply go out and get a (used/cheap) Android device if I was intrigued by Sparks features (wait, I am!) Currently i don't see any other bedroom amp with a similar feature set with PC/Mac controll neither something without the training functionality in that ballpark alone.

@vaughan-macegan I'm sure you have to compromise on a lot of things in the modern world if you refuse to use/own mobile devices! Good luck with that strategy! ;-)

Surprisingly not! But this is one of those things were if they had just made it available to move presets from Bias to the actual device via USB or even wireless then it would've been great and they would have my money. The thing is the device does connect via USB. And with my big hands, and quite strong, I wouldn't want to be playing around with the onscreen display trying to make all my presets. I tend to break things accidentally, of course, like when I was a child toys would just break, and even computers break down around me, street lights you name it.
