Bias FX with iPad Pro problems

@tafkad...I had foolishly assumed that @a_olivero had connected the charger side via a regular Apple USB charger. @o_oliviero what is the amperage of your power supply?
@o_oliviero -- No, I mean if your interface fails to be powered by the iPad alone you could connect via a powered USB hub. No rocket science involved. Google it -- or don't, your choice.

@vaultnaemsae the battery is 5V 2.4A max out
it also works fine with an apple charger as well that is 5.1V 2.1A
Of note and for instance I have an Asus wall charger claims 5V 2A on the side but it will not turn on the soundcard no matter how many times I unplug and re-insert the soundcard from the CCK - so don't just try one charger if you have multiples
if you get a message stating there is not enough power for a given device it is most likely due to low amperage
you want to just get good power to the units at the same time I'd say at least 2A or better - your devices will let you know by either being powered together or not
also don't use knock-off CCk's and Charge Cables as I have encountered more problems with these - get real crApple brand CCK and Charge Cable also just to be on the safe side - I have a long Knock-Off lightning cable that that does not charge worth a darn (DC does not like long cables and keep that in mind as well - if you have a low amperage power supply and too long a charge cable you most likely will have issues)

@o_oliviero you do not need a hub - the main thing is to use a good power supply (or Battery) with enough power (amperage not volts) for the iPad and the USB soundcard - I use the Apple Lightning CCK and the issue is not with the CCK at all (make sure you use a real Crapple CCK and a real Crapple USB to Lightning charge cable)
if anything it is the power that you are trying to inject into the "lightning-in port" on the CCK
you should be able to easily sort this out as I have used multiple soundcards this way with no issues (using a Mackie Onyx Artist 1-2 now and works fine) I can even use the mic phantom power this way
NOTE: I have to plug in this particular soundcard multiple times to get it to turn on occasionally which sucks a little but not hard to get past (when I do I just unplug the soundcard from the USB port on the CCK and then re-insert until it comes on)
I have posted 2 pictures if you look close you can see a battery that can run the iPad/soundcard combo with ease - you can also see a battery that can not supply enough amperage
Wow!! Thanx for your detailed explanation!
I have to by that battery. -
@o_oliviero first try to get it working with a power supply on hand before you spend any more $$$ because you should be able to make it work with just a true CCK and Charge Cable using a power supply that can deliver at or above 2 amps (above preferred)
Before I converted my midi pedal to bluetooth I used a totally "passive" USB hub to convert the CCK from 1 port to 4 USB ports (this hub is only USB ports and is not another soundcard too in other words and actually uses a tiny bit of power for a "green" light on it) This allowed me to plug the hub into the CCK and then my midi pedal and soundcard into the passive hub so I could control the software with foot-switching - The power was provided to all 3 devices at the same time injected into the CCK with a Lightning Cable. At the time I was using a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 soundcard and I highly recommend that card for many reasons to any readers looking to get a good card at a fair price (buy it used)
Try to solve your issue by experimentation before spending more money on other solutions - plug in the CCK first Then plug in the Lightning Charge Cable and last plug in the soundcard - see what happens, if not working right away then unplug the soundcard from the CCK and reinsert it - see what happens and repeat if necessary until you have a conclusion as to what is working or not working in the basic setup procedure - check to make sure the CCK and the Lightning cable are OEM proprietary - check the power specs on your power supply (charger or battery does not matter) - use your shortest Lightning cable to be safe
Also check the mobile app thread here for any users that have already successfully used the same soundcard as your card and look for clues if needed to what they did different
best of luck
