Live volume Head.
-
I’m using the Head, I notice even with the output knob at noon, it’s not very loud. That’s telling me the preset aren’t very loud because at 16ohms that 300watts should be pumping pretty good, no?
Now I’m a total noob to all this stuff, so where should I bump up the volume? The transformer output knob? An EQ fader at the end of the modules?
I use it with a real cabinet, I have the cab sims off.
I use the FX loop with my pedalboard.
What says yous?
-
@johnnyeggz It's pretty loud if I set it at noon, did you use it in a rehearsal room?
-
Don’t get me wrong, it’s loud at noon, just not loud enough for a full band with two guitar players.
In that case I’ve the output at around 1-2 o’clock. -
This is why reference levels are so important and tricky to get to
-
For now I’m just upping the output in the transformer section to just shy of 0db, I dunno if that’s “correct”, but that’s what I’m doing.
-
@johnnyeggz You can set the output in Transformer section but please always set it carefully or it will clip the signal before Cab-Sim section.
-
@felix Thanks!
I don’t use the cab sim section, so I’m going “by ear“ with a live cabinet.
