BIAS FX 2 MIDI control
-
@pipelineaudio Its the lack of transparency that pisses me off. Its only when we pull do they give updates on this issue.
meanwhile their marketing for fx2 is full steam ahead.
i like the products but they can do much better with user engagement
-
@guitarkite Exactly. I didn't know I was getting early access to the software before it was ready for prime time. It was never sold to us like that. I uninstalled Bias FX 1 for this and ended up having to reinstall it because 2 is useless without midi control for me. Had I known, I would have waited. This software should never have been released like this. I have spent a ton of money on Bias products but, I am done after this. Just give me what I thought I was getting or refund me my money.

@pipelineaudio To be clear... I’m not upset at the person who comes on this forum to apologize on behalf of the company and hands out potential time-lines. Nor am I upset with the programmers... Kudos to you guys! And take the time to get it done right.
I do however, take issue with the fact that the company has, and continues to, market a non-existent feature in the software. A problem that customers are not aware of until after they’ve paid several hundred dollars based (at least in part) on the existence of that very feature! THAT is unethical!

I definitely understand! Often there are different parts of the organism driving the buss at different times, often, there is NAMM related HORROR as the marketing department of a company insists on shoving a product out before the engineering part is ready. Recently the fear of being accused of vaporware has the marketing side ratcheting up even more to start actually selling things before their time
If you were a vegas user back in the day, you probably got to see Peter Haller get tortured relentlessly by the community as the person forced to be the bearer of bad news. That was his thanks for taking his extra time to bond with the community and make sure our voices were heard.
So if you see people talking to us in this forum, rest assured that, though they probably arent allowed to say it, they're probably even more upset than we are.

?? MIDI???
-
Any new updates on when MIDI control will be available?
-
It is technically “early-May”. Sure would like that update. Please?
-
I agree... a brief update would help calm the masses :-)
-
Hey.. I'd like to make a suggestion.. I am pretty sure you will eventually put out a MIDI interface, to have external MIDI foot controller to toggle devices, use ext volume and wah pedals.. most software does, I have no doubt you will too..
My request ie/suggestion... when you do establish this midi interface, could you please make sure that the Behringer FCB1010 midi footpedal (one of the best for the money)... I think this would be awesome.. It works with Amplitube, with (NI Guitar Rig, but wonky)..
This is, I believe, a good suggestion..
So, far I want to say, this BIAS FX2 has the best sound I have heard in a modeler.. The gate and noise suppression is very exciting how well it works!! Kudos you guys.. it's amazing.. thank you..
Get the FCB1010 working, and I'll be in pig slop heaven.. thanks in advance..
-
It would take a miracle for it not to work well with the FCB 1010. Bias FX already does
-
@pipelineaudio agreed. I use it with Bias FX 1 very successfully, although I'm not doing anything fancy. Just toggling pedals...but it does that perfectly, even using the factory chip.
-
still haven't release it yet?
-
Now I start to get a little "nervous". It has been a while since we have had an update from Mike, which makes me start to think something is not going well... or he is on vacation...
Anyone have the inside scoop?
-
He answered me on a different topic about 6 days ago. I fear we may have scared him into staying silent on this particular subject. Either that, or he’s tired of being the bearer of bad news.
Hey Mike!!! No one’s mad at YOU! Come back and let us know something! If it’s delayed longer, we won’t blame YOU. We know you’re not in charge of when it gets released. Don’t shoot the messenger.

this is what I found today. But it doesnt say when it will be actually released -
@bmacario63 If this is the format, I'm a bit disappointed. No setting for Latched/Unlatched... No setting for limiting minimum/maximum per control... No velocity curve control... And, unless it's a specific feature on the "wah", no auto engage feature based on pedal movement. Essentially, it's pretty much the same limitations as the old Bias FX MIDI setup.
Maybe someone out there knows of a 3rd party MIDI VST that can bridge the gap. (i.e. accepting MIDI input from a foot controller, and sending a modified MIDI to Bias FX2.
-
@guitarkite well that really sucks. we'll have to see when it's finally out
-
We created several, if you are using it in VST, my youtube channel has piles of examples of wah auto engage plugins and such
however, I'm hoping all of these things will be added, they were certainly on my list, audio engage was a biggie...Ones I wished for but figured they probably couldnt be gotten to at all, like multiband compressor were also added, so I'm hopeful they will add the more basic stuff
