Is there any way to merge factory presets I have discovered after making factory reset with presets I have backed up in Dropbox?
I am asking because backing up presets from Dropbox wipes all the existing presets.

Not sure the best way but here is a note related to this - I had not backed up my presets in a while and had to re-install Bias FX and wanted them back in there. As it turns out I did however save all of the data files via iTunes to a folder that contained all this info right before the re-install for safe keeping. Getting it back was not easy and took a few tries. I was able to read the config file in a txt editor from my older Dropbox save and figure out how to hand edit it to restore my setups. Took a few tries to get it to work and was a painful learn but as always perseverance pays off.

There must be an easier way to do what you want but it is totally doable by hand

I was just trying to figure the same thing out today. I backed up my Bias FX presets on my iPhone and would like to add them to the same program on my iPad but could not figure out how to get it done. I don't want to wipe the presets that are already on my iPad. Maybe a Positive Grid rep can chime in on this?

Preset management, transfer and backups are a mess in the iOS and desktop-apps.
I really do not understand why PG hasn't improved this long ago, based on their Tonecloud.

Not sure about IOS, but in Bias Amp through Windows browser you can copy the folder, restore your backups and then move selected amps to folders.

I wouldn't rely on to a local backup because I had problems in the past:
After adding two more instances of the VST to a reaper project the GUI of BA2 was suddenly no longer usable.
                Support told me to delete…

                • C:\Users[User_name]\AppData\Roaming\PositiveGrid\BIAS_AMP2.settings
                • C:\Users[User_name]\Documents\PositiveGrid\BIAS_AMP2

… and reinstall BIAS AMP 2 and run power cycling once, which should solve this issue.

Of cause I had a backup of all folders in "documents" but BA2 does not recognize my amps and IR-folders after I moved them separately back into the structure. Replacing the whole structure leads to the GUI-problem.

The only solution PG could provide was to always use ToneCloud as backup, not your drive, as how BIAS AMP2 sees and manages the amps and presets is not user-manageable. The only way to back up presets is to use ToneCloud, manually upload each one. No bulk upload either.

For iOS and Mac, if Bias FX supported iCloud, it would be insanely amazing. I have been using it for a while to keep two Mac laptops in sync and it is like Magic. If the iPad/Phone could be brought into that, it would be pretty incredible.

If you are on a Mac you can also use Ampl4 to manage your presets and store them locally for back up. I like the app and wish PG would just buy it from the developer and implement it themselves for us.
