First of all, we need to configure the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver ASIO settings to an acceptable Buffer Size and therefore latency. This can also be done from most DAW ASIO panels but from here is more straightforward and non-dependable on the different DAW user interfaces. BIAS FX don’t allow to call this ASIO panel from settings… it would be great if they add this functionality in the future.

After you have done this, it comes the tricky part in BIAS FX. You need to select the Direct Input channel (DI) since using the processed signal will produce awkward results (fuzzy or saturated sounds). For doing this you need to select ASIO as Audio Device Type, Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO as Output Device and the most important part select the DI channel. How? Selecting Input Channel 3-4 (is you selected Stereo in the Input dropbox) or Input Channel 3 (if you selected Mono).

It is also important to move to the zero position the Guitar knob in our THR10 and USB/AUX to taste (middle position for example). This way we will hear the BIAS FX completely but nothing of the processed signal that the THR10 produces. The rest of the knobs don’t matter as we are getting the raw, direct input.

From here you can enjoy your BIAS FX desktop through your THR10 without any need of getting an additional audio interface.
As a bonus, if you want to record your BIAS FX through your THR10 in your favorite DAW is quite simple. You configure the Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO THR 10 Guitar as your audio device and after this you select again the DI as the input source in the audio track (this time is usually easier as it comes with the description) and apply BIAS FX as an effect.

I hope you enjoy this rig as much as I do.

      Regards. Javier

I dont get the part about needing to call up the ASIO panel, it seems like I can do everything from the standalone Bias FX menu here, but you are right, for many interfaces, it sure would be nice if it could call the actual Asio Control panel!

Just need to know how each one accesses it. I've found it with every interface I've used, though if I can't set it to max and leave it there indefnitely, something is wrong.

Can I use my THR5 as audio interface as well? Following the described steps I’m not able to choose input channel 3-4.
