Using bias amp 2 in tonestack
-
Hey gang. Seems that bias amp 2 is actually workin quite well as IAA inside of tonestack. Thing is that it seems Bias Amp is what controls the frame rate and sets Tonestack to 256. Is there a way to control what the frame rate is inside of Bias Amp?

Shout out to @pipelineaudio
How’s your project with the Sonoma guitar jack working? I’m thinking of picking up one of those if it would perform better than the behringer umc204hd. Using the phone is just so convenient compared to reaper and pc sometimes
-
I don’t believe it is a better performer latency wise than the 202/204/404hd series, at least that’s what I wrote on my chart. It IS awesome as an iPad device. Be aware that it has no output volume knob in hardware which you may see as a plug or minus. I love it, but the behringer hd will be the faster performer on pc. I use it with my laptop and iPad and have mixed several songs in part with it as my monitor
-
@pipelineaudio nice I guess I’ll keep using it then. I’m just chasing some buzz. I got a behringer di box and a behringer hum eliminator in hopes that might help. How do you think a dedicated DI will perform vs the high z in the box?
-
A dedicated DI could be a bit different. Sometimes just the act of switching an active one for a passive one has massive usability differences. Once you have a box type, you can open it up and add whatever utilities you need. I think I MAY have seen a distortion on the low end of high output pickups with the behringer 204HD
-
@pipelineaudio what do you mean by open it up to add?
-
Once you have a DI box, if you want to put in ground lift switches, pads and that sort of thing its a lot easier than trying to stick them on your interface
-
@pipelineaudio oh I see. I got the behringer di that has a geoundlift button and I got the hd4000 hum destroyer. Haven’t figured how to use them yet though
-
Do you have high output pickups and noticed some bit of distortion with the HD series' DI input? I have a Behringer UltraDI or something here, and it passes any pickup I've ever put in it cleanly
-
@pipelineaudio I have noticed that the high z clips very easily and I have a pickup set designed for high output in the bridge but a bit lower elsewhere so I’d like to be able to have the variety really come through with pickup changes etc
-
Which DI did you end up getting?
-
@pipelineaudio got a behringer ultra di di400p
-
Ahh perfect...if it ever gives you any trouble you can stick a little switch in with a resistor for a pad
-
@pipelineaudio ha I went to try it and realized I only have male xlrs. Need to make a trip to the store. Man I really love the tones I get out of these apps but they are sooooooo noisy man. So fn noisy. I don’t know what it is but I get so much emi noise from it
-
Somewhere on YouTube I made a video on shielding a guitar for super cheap
-
@pipelineaudio even if using shielded cable?
-
Well shielded wire from pots to jack
