Expression Pedal Volume Question

  • Hi! I just purchased a BT-4 and I'm trying to use a Boss EV-30 as a volume/expression Pedal. However, when trying to use jamup pro on my ipad, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the expression pedal as a gain control (like the volume knob on a guitar) rather than a master volume for the purpose doing things such as volume swells etc. If anyone has any idea of how to do this, it would be much appreciated!

  • @joshua-bittencourt Hi, I'm more familiar with Bias FX than with JamUp Pro, but I'll say put the expression pedal at the beginning of the signal chain in JamUp Pro if you want it to behave like the guitar's volume knob, but put the expression pedal at the end the signal chain in JamUp Pro if you want it to behave like a master volume.

  • @redroc-k thanks for the response. Thats what I figured I would try to do, however, for some odd reason jam up pro doesn't offer a volume pedal to use in the signal chain, only wah's and pitch shifters. So I thought maybe there is a midi setting that has to be used, but the only setting I could see was for out put volume. Would you recommend using bias fx live over jamup pro? The swelling is used a lot in my music so I may have to change 😔

  • @joshua-bittencourt Ahh, I see, yes, that’s a problem. Well, I haven’t used JamUp, but I can tell you that I really like BIAS FX.
