mini speaker out bypasses cab sim
-
@felix I think it is good that it is disabled by default since the typical case is going to be people using traditional guitar cabinets on stage. So, I do think the default is correctly chosen.
But, given that this is a digital product and it can already do internal cabinet modeling, you should definitely take note that there are some users who may have access to a number of passive PA or FRFR products that they wish to drive with the internal amp and that list of products is growing.
Celestion is releasing a new 'flat' speaker for example that is a drop-in replacement for converting existing cabs to an FR cab, for example:

I would think that you guys should consider a firmware update that allows the speaker sim 'off' or 'as per preset' it could be controlled as a system setting in the app or something since there is no dedicated button for it on the physical amp. You may even want to consider having the line out controllable in that way too.
I think the basic physical UI of the mini is super cool, but adding those 'soft' features would add value since it is priced as a premium product. I have considered buying one and the added flexibility along with PG's willingness to add features after release and support user requests, would help sway my thinking personally and also demonstrate a commitment to future and existing customers in general.

I keep bringing up how critical of an issue this whole thing is. Line 6 has made piles of products that completely tank their ability to use as advertised because of this issue...It absolutely, 100%, MUST, be taken into consideration at all times, that a traditional guitar cab and the PA/FRFR need two different types of signals, and they often need them at the exact same time.
Easy to do in software land, nearly impossible to fix after the fact.
Please, please please make sure the dual path (cab sim on/ cab sim off) thing is always ready for whatever situation arises
Again, 100% critical
