Why the forum color change?
-
Visibility seems fine, though I tend to like a white background. The posting pane is still white - though the preview window is black.
-
I'd prefer a white background too but it has to match Positive Grid's theme... lol
-
You could make dark default and let the user decide providing an alternative theme ;)
-
I prefer the black background, just because a white background can be fatiguing. Also, I like to peruse the forum while in bed for the night, and the old lady gets real bummed if I have a bright white screen in her face while she's trying to sleep. lol.

@sascha-ballweg I second this.

See how fun it is to run a forum? Some people will crank over anything :)

See what I can do ;-)

@pipelineaudio Shrug. That is the purpose of a beta to find out what works and what doesn't. ;) Plus, internet.
@Joe-Kuo My two cents is that I absolutely hate the black background and feel it lowers the usability of the forum. It is nowhere near as readable for me with my vision being what it is. I am not 20 something anymore.
FWIW, I think allowing users to select a 'theme' like you can on other boards would be ideal for everyone as it is understandable that some folks may actually like the black background better.

Yeah, youngens seem to dig black backgrounds. Because, it's evil! EVIL. Or something. Black gear still looks cooler than white. Funny that, eh?
@Dan: just turn down the brightness on your phone, yo.

When we were making the first few REAPER themes, everyone complained that they were too light. You can please some of the people some of the time....
