Bias Head/Rack combine with Bias Distortion Pedal?
-
I‘m not satisfied combining my old distortion pedals with bias rack. I have an alairex halo, which I loved with all my other amps, but with the bias rack this love is broken... Sometimes I’d like to boost my rack sounds with an overdrive or something.
What about the pg distortion pedal. Is this a good combination? -

@ash-wolford Do you only use it with a clean amp or do you also combine it with an overdriven one?
-
@daniel-g I have two separate pairings that I use depending on what kind of sound I want; one high-gain amp with a TS-type overdrive for extra saturation, and one low-gain amp setting with a distortion pedal preset.

@ash-wolford Thank you very much for those information! What about the boost-function, does this increase the volume?
-
Yeah, it's basically a volume boost that has a few different color options. It can also be switched between pre and post modes, so you can use it to drive either the pedal or the amp a bit harder.

@daniel-g I personally think you're "overspending" for what you need/want. Seems like you'd want a simple clean boost, or maybe a Dynacomp? Idk. But the BIAS Pedal IS sweet. I'd think it's a bit redundant (sorry PG!), but to each his own. Cheers.

@daniel-g I’ve not put my bias pedal in front of Bias Head as it’s a little cost prohibitive for me but I do like the pedal a lot and I’m sure once you dive into the software you’d be able to get the sound you’re after. I use it either in front of or in the fx loop of my Line6 HD500X depending on my needs at the time and I’m pretty happy with it. I use it with singl coils, p90s, and bass.

@daniel-g I forgot to mention that I like the boost options too. Being able to switch from pre to post is pretty cool.
