Delay Notice: BIAS AMP 2 for BIAS Rack/Head(Update/Mar/12/2018)

  • Moderator

We know you've all been waiting eagerly for the complete integration feature for BIAS AMP 2 and BIAS Rack/Head since the debut of BIAS AMP 2. However, we regret to announce that the release date for the integration feature for BIAS AMP 2 and BIAS Rack/Head has been postponed.

As of now, we are unable to provide an exact date for the official release. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. For now, please use BIAS AMP 1 to operate your BIAS Rack/Head unit and use BIAS AMP 2 as a standalone application or as a plug-in with your DAW. We will share with you the latest news regarding the official release date as soon as there’s more development. Meanwhile, the following notes may be helpful for answering some of the questions that you may have:

    1. BIAS AMP 1 and 2 are regarded as two different programs, thus, both can be installed on the same computer.

    2. All BIAS Rack/Head users are eligible for a free upgrade to BIAS AMP 2. If you haven't applied for your upgrade, please write to us.

    3. In addition to the desktop software, you can also use the BIAS AMP app on your iPhone or iPad (sold separately, please visit for more information) to remote control your BIAS Rack/Head unit and manage the onboard amp presets via Bluetooth 4.0 protocol. (Please note: iPad 1 and 2 are not supported, as they are equipped with older, now obsolete Bluetooth protocol)

    4. BIAS AMP 2 for iOS is still under development. We do not have an estimated timeframe for when it will be ready.

Please bear with us as we continue to develop awesome products. We at Positive Grid thank you for your continued support and understanding.

  • Disappointing to here it's on hold for now, but thanks for at least giving us an update on the situation :)

  • This is a huge drag. Back in January, it was 4 to 6 weeks. Now, 8 weeks later, on hold with no idea of a release date. I hope that we'll be updated on when you guys might have this ready. Right now, using just the software and not the rack seems like a waste of a thousand dollars.

  • @queso-st-eele Okay I'm going to be blunt here.

I don't understand this sentiment. If you just bought the rack/head specifically because of BA2, that's entirely on you. The rack/head still does what it's always been advertised to do; it works just fine with BA1. BA2 being out does not invalidate this to any degree. For that matter, we were neither promised nor entitled an immediate upgrade when we purchased the hardware units, and these things take time. It's not like it's a piece of cake to port new software to an embedded platform like this. Frankly, the fact that we're getting the upgrade for free is something we ought to be thankful for in the first place.

Forgive me if I sound rude here, but calling it a waste because it's not yet compatible with software it was never guaranteed to be compatible with at this time just seems like calling out your own poor judgement in hastily buying something under a false assumption. Just give it time, man, the upgrade will come when it's ready...

  • @ash-wolford I pre-ordered the rack the minute it was available. I said just using the software, not the rack, seems like a waste. I wasn't promised any upgrade when I purchased the rack, but I was promised an updated firmware when Bias 2 was announced and released. I specifically contacted support, as their announcements were a bit vague about firmware. They said 4 to 6 weeks a couple of months ago. Now there is delay and it doesn't feel good to have expensive hardware so quickly surpassed by software. I'm not boycotting PG, I'm just bummed that their committment is unfulfilled so far.

  • i mean, i'm bummed too, but i'm not gonna call it a waste just because i can't make use of the latest and greatest with my Head quite yet. It's still darned awesome even on the older software, and I can still use BA2 with my PC to prepare for when they do release the update. Heck, we got the BA2 Pro upgrade for free, that's more than people who bought BA1 by itself got.
