              I usually start working my way up the chain...next I figure it would be plugged in with the guitar volume down all the way. I know that in my low noise testing setup, the difference between the guitar muted by hand vs playing, using the stock Mesa triple recto with the stock 808 in front of it is only 16 dB from signal to noise, so even a perfectly quiet setup will be noise city. That’s why it’s important to figure out where all the baselines are so you aren’t worried a bout noises that aren’t loud enough to even reach the noise floor elsewhere
