      hello
what is the best way to punch in and out record in cubase using bias fx ?
when i want to punch in record i cant hear anything of the previously recorded part because the monitor is enabled and when the monitor button is disabled i cant hear what i'm playing

i have tried duplicating tracks and then cut and paste the 2 different tracks together in one audio track , but it is quite long winded .
how do you handle punch in and out record with bias fx vst as an insert effect

      cheers for your time !!!

Duplicate the track and turn on monitoring from that track but punch in on the track you want. Turn monitoring off on the track your punching in on.

I hope I've explained that correctly...

So two tracks, one used only for monitoring the other the original one you are fixing.

@shane-bradley-dixon Of course, it's a way to do it, but I think the right way to do it, is the following explanation. Enter Preference. Select VST and under Auto Monitoring select Tapemachine Style. That's the way I do it.

@poulpm That's it. I knew there was a way. I've been doing it this way because of my laziness lol!

Thank you very much! That will surely be a big ease to my recording-efforts.
