ASIO Not working with fx
-
Hi,
new here purchased bias fx standard 3 days ago , cant get any fx with my ASIO Settings only guitar none fx sound from speaker, when i change setting to direct sound or windows audio it works ok . I have demos of GR5 and TH3, they work fine with my ASIO drivers. I Have contacted help support though they have not been able to help so far. Any ideas on this matter would be appreciated.
Thanks Paul. -
@paulhouston will asio work with everything set exactly the same if you are monitoring through a daw?

HI, Thanks for answering .Using as standalone at the moment dont have a daw installed at the moment .. noted on help page that if using windows 10 on standalone mode to use 32 bit instead of 64 bit ? tried that no diferance . I can here fx noises from inside laptop but just non guitar fx through usb speaker i have tried tuner that does not work either seems there is some signal issue -
But you have no way of knowing if ASIO is working on your system right now right? Id add some program to try the asio driver out on first

@pipelineaudio
Not sure what you mean the ASIO driver settings are working great with both guitar rig 5, and TH3. OnStandalone mode.. does not work with bias fx.standalone mode when selecting ASIO No guitar fx are heard only here raw guitar. -
Ahh ok, it sounded like you hadn't been sure the ASIO drivers were working with other stuff on this particular system. Well this is weird then. You shouldn't be hearing the direct guitar at all if its all set up right. For sure you have the same inputs and outputs specified in bias fx as you did in guitar rig?

One thing you can try is, make sure no other software or application is using the ASIO driver at the same time you run bias fx.
You are using an interface to go into your computer ?
-
but he's hearing direct signal, which either means hardware monitoring on in the interface, or that the asio is working and/or like you said some other sotware is running it
-
Hi thanks for the response . I will just have to use the direct audio settings for now it's not that bad really! although FX recommend the ASIO driver not sure if it will work with the reaper saw I just have installed.
-
Sorry that should have read Reaper daw. Heads buzzing.
-
If its working fine in reaper, under its own ASIO driver, then it should work fine in standalone, with the same settings in both the asio control panel and the settings in bias fx standalone. If these things are definitely set the same yet there are problems, there most likely is another program getting control of it. Under no circumstance should you be hearing the direct guitar thru software though it is possible you are hearing it thru the hardware monitoring feature of the audio interface

Thanks for the responses, I have managed to get a solution to this issue, not ideal but fine for the moment. 1 uninstalled FX . 2 reinstalled without standalone . Installed Reaper daw I am able to access FX within Reaper with Their ASIO default audio settings.
