M1 Native release date
-
Apple M1 computers are out for almost 2 years now. Today I installed a new BiasFX update because the software said that there's an update. So again hoping if this was the update that makes the app and more importantly the VST M1 Native. Unfortunately not. Is there anyone who has any info on if there will be a M1 Native version of Bias FX and Bias FX VST. BiasFX is taking CPU resources in my dawn that are much bigger than M1 native Guitar Rig for example.
Please Positive Grid, next update don't focus on features but do a catch up with latest chip technology.

I second this. Monterey is about to be replaced with Ventura, and it still doesnt work. I love my spark, and bias amp and fx2. But it keeps locking up and crashing my Logic Pro projects. I purchased Amplitude last night as I need a solid compatible plugin to record with. Now I have to recreate my sounds all over again. But hey, it's compatible and won't crash and lose my work. C'mon guys fix the product so it's current.

@rickjohns I have just replaced my old iMac with a new M1 MacBook Pro and I'm having the same problem with Bias Fx 2 Elite. Bias Amp works fine as Standalone and as a Plugin in Logic Pro, but Bias FX 2 will not run in either . Does anyone know of a fix for this. I've logged a call with Positive Grid Support.

@cuz VIX at Positive Grid support got back to me pretty quickly with this fix.
I followed instructions and I now have BIAS FX 2 working as it should. Both as a Standalone and as a Plug-in with Logic Pro.
One additional step was required to restore my own custom presets.
This was to copy my GlobalPresets folder from my "BIAS_FX2 backup" folder back into and overwrite GlobalPresets in the new “BIAS_FX2” folder in /Documents/PositiveGrid/.
All is perfect now.
p.s. I am running Logic Pro under Rosetta and all my plug-ins are working.**Vix (Positive Grid)
Oct 12, 2022, 3:48 PM GMT+8Hi Cuz,
This is Vix from Positive Grid Support. Thanks for reaching out.
Please follow the instructions below:

Launch BIAS FX 2 Standalone and close it.
-
Rename the BIAS_FX2 folder in Documents/PositiveGrid to "BIAS_FX2 backup"
-

You have to locate the hidden Library folder by the following instructions:
1). Launch Finder.
2). Click "Shift + Command + G" then copy & paste "~/Library/Application Support/PositiveGrid" to the "Go to the folder" window.-
Restart your computer.
-

Or you can try to operate the logic with Rosetta.
If you’re using Mac with the M1 chip, please run Logic with Rosetta and see if BIAS FX 2 works properly in Logic
To install Rosetta for Logic Pro, quit Logic Pro and follow these steps:
-
From the Finder menu bar, choose Go > Go to Folder.
-
Type “/System/Library/CoreServices/Rosetta2 Updater.app,” then click Go.
-
Double-click Rosetta 2 Updater, then follow the prompts to install Rosetta.
After that, go to Applications and right-click on Logic Pro -> Info and select "Open using Rosetta":
Open Using Rosetta (MacOS)Let me know how it goes.
Sincerely,
Vix

@cuz
It's pretty shocking that the company hasn't managed to compile a version for the M1 in TWO YEARS. I bought my M1 Air almost two years ago. -
Hello, is there any perspective on the release of the BIAS FX2 update, where the application will be fully native for Apple M1. Currently you cannot use VST3 in Cubase 12 in native mode. I look forward to every BIAS FX2 update and still nothing.

Hi, just want to say, the lack of responses from Positive Grid is really troubling and just a slap in the face for long time customers. There are most likely tons more people experiencing this issue and zero communication. The user experience for your products on the new M1 hardware is horrendous and borderline unusable. It amazes me that you expect customers to buy more of your products when you can't maintain the ones people use most. Just sad.
Gonna have to start looking at competitors.

@lucaster13 I second that. This is really worrying that so much time has passed and still no reply on any potential date for native M1 compatibility. I really need it as Logic works faster in Native mode; Bias FX and Bias AMP are the LAST apps that still crash because of the lack of compatiblity.

@eon-yamaha
I recommend that you open Support Tickets. One thing I‘ve noticed over the past year and a half is that PG personnel seldom, if ever monitor this forum. Support Tickets seem to be the only way to contact and communicate with PG Support. -
Hi Positive Grid,
will there ANYTIME be an update that will provide NATIVE Apple Silicon support?
