OS Monterey compatibility?
-
Hi there
Back in November 21 I was told by Positive Grid support that Bias software wasn't yet compatible with OS Monterey release (12.3.1) They advised me not to update until further tests had been done.
Had no further communication on this, and I can find nothing from PG about whether this has been sorted. Can anyone shed any light? I'd really like to update my Mac now...nearly 6 months later...
Cheers!

Hi, I don't know about official support but for me it works on an Intel iMac running Monterey. Both standalone and plugin work well.

@damnoldfart I'm setting up a new Mac Studio M1 Max with Monterey 12.2. I haven't actually started any projects on that computer in my DAW yet-(Studio One 5 Pro), but I did install Bias FX2 Pro and got sound happening with it just sitting as a plugin on a track.
I have a Song template setup just to check all my plugins capability with Monterey and M1 Max. Should be Ok, but I found that many of my Waves plugs won'y work at all, and Native Instruments stuff just flat out won't work; we can't even install Native Access on Monterey.
A lot of the problem is that I got the M1 Max Chip, which is a major roadblock ATM...I've heard that the regular M1 Chip and Monterey does allow more plugins to work. -
Hmm, thanks both of you for replying. Mines a Macbook Pro, Intel rather than M1 so hopefully it should work. Fingers crossed!

@pruelangfield Ive been having issues with a new M1 Macbook Air. and Garageband. After updating to Monterey, whenever I went to use the BIAS FX2 plug in i would just get a grey pop up, where bias presets used to load.
Ive worked out its go to do with where BIAS installed on the Mac. If I try and update the software now, it tries to re-install it into the "Garageband "folder... which seems to make it crash/stall.
I searched "bias" in finder, I deleted ALL results of bias, including the .json files, except for the App (standalone) and trashed them. Once i did that and opened Garageband - it seemed to make it work. It re-created all the Bias folders into the "Documents" folder.
I lost all my presets doing it this way - but at least its working again... there must be a way to save the presets for deleting then all (I saw a thread somewhere on it).
Good luck

Anyone successful trying to run it to the latest Monterey version?

@dondijavier I'm running it fine my M1 MacBook Pro running the latest version of Monterey. It's still only an Intel binary though - would be great to see a native arm64 build now that we're starting on the second generation of arm Macs...

Before deleting any files, make sure to back up your presets. Locate the folder where BIAS stores its presets and copy them to a safe location, such as an external hard drive or cloud storage. Completely uninstall BIAS FX2 from your system. This typically involves running an uninstaller provided by the software or manually deleting any associated files. Computer games also develop well, and if the game is for money, the brain works even better, but it is not always necessary to start with your money, here for example there is Rokubet no deposit bonus https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/rokubet.com and you can play for now without your investment. After the uninstallation is complete, reinstall BIAS FX2. During the installation process, pay attention to the installation location. Choose the "Documents" folder or any other location that works for you, ensuring it doesn't conflict with GarageBand.
