Whenever I turn on my spark amp, the presets started blinking (Depending on what number I last used)
Then I found out the reason, In the App, I just saw that one of the knobs (sometimes on the Amp on the app - any amp actually, or any of the stompbox, they automatically turn/rotate themselves to zero. sometimes it's the volume, or the gain, etc
Is there any fix to this? whatever preset I use, it always blinks volume turns low or suddenly my preset has chorus or reverb on it. and I always have to restart the Spark Amp because of this.
The point being is, the amps/ effects on each preset automatically adds effects or turns its volume down automatically.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, also downgraded and upgraded the firmware of the Spark App, still did not fix the issue.
The App does not have any damage on it as well.
I need help on this, badly.
Thanks to you all!

I have not seen this problem discussed on the Forum before. I assume that you have fixed the offending Preset within the Spark App, saved it, and reassigned the newly saved Preset to the appropriate Spark 40 Hardware Channel within the App.I think I’ve observed in the past that changing and saving the Preset within the Hardware Channel Tab of the Spark App does not automatically update (I.e overwrite) the Spark 40 resident version. You need to save it to a “new” Preset on another App Tab (ex. Rock, etc.) or update the “original” Preset on the appropriate App Tab; then “re-assign it” in the Hardware Tab.
It’s been awhile. I haven’t really messed with Presets since I adjusted and assigned my Practice Presets in the Amp; however, l remember it was a more convoluted process than I expected.

@daddymackyow hi i have a similar problem during playing is changing the settings from the preset him self .preset light toggeling . i dont know if is doing the same if the phone isnt connected ..... dont use the amp to much .... software is hmm not perfect .in my opinion..in the spark and in the phone .they use two bluetooh connections... ...

@a-tiger if you make any change to your guitar sound from the app the light on should flash (like use a sound saved in the app).
If that’s not what you mean, then I’m not sure what you are getting at.

@a-tiger
@broadkarnage is correct. It will also start blinking if you physically move any of the Knobs on the Spark 40 except Output Knob on the far right. The knobs are not active until you move one, either on purpose or accidentally, at which point the Channel Light blinks indicating that you have an un-saved change to the Channel Preset. If you inadvertently adjusted a knob, pressing the Channel Light should stop the blinking and return you to the saved channel Preset.
This sometimes happens if I use a 90 degree Cable for the Amp input; I’ll tweak the Reverb Knob while positioning the connector.

@gary_hutchings Which Mustang do you have? I quite like the look of the newer 50 watt models now they have an open back, especially the GTX50 as a possible smaller gigging beast in the future.
-
@rex-progrock Thanks for the input. Part of the want I have is quick setup, and the combo idea wins there. I’ll have to compare several before taking the plunge at some point. Line6 models will sound great and the specific speaker will be allowed for in a combo format.
The Boss & speaker route will mean a different budget for sure.
Ahh, it’s pipe dreams currently. I have a great tone for my main gigging amp (modded Blues Junior and pedal board, two of those modded) which I have bent to my precise liking.
-
@dan-lawrence No buttons or knobs have ben touched. Just same old plug and play.
Sometimes it'll work for 5 minutes, then it will blink again losing its Gain or will have a reverb or something. It changes the preset I have saved.
Then I'll have to turn off/on the spark again.

I’d try this, if you haven’t already:-
Pick a new Preset from the Spark App and use it for a half hour or so; don’t modify it or assign it to a Hardware Channel yet. Does the problem occur? If so, this would suggest the problem is somewhere in the Bluetooth signal chain. If not, this eliminates your the Spark App signal chain as the culprit.
-
Assign that same new Preset to the Channel on the Spark 40 you normally use the most, and play for a half hour. Does the change occur? If so, this suggests the problem is somewhere in the amp channel circuitry. If not, your original Preset may be ‘damaged’.
-
Assign that same Preset to the least used Spark 40 Channel and play for a half hour. Does the change occur? If not, at least it’s isolated to a single Channel, and could be wiring or specific Channel Memory related. If it fails the same way, then I’d say it’s definitely a Control Board issue.

It might also help to know if the same thing happens with one of the internal amp Presets selected from the left-most knob (ex. Clean, Glassy, etc.). I think these are loaded from firmware and not the App. -
Any inputs on the issue? Since couple of months I am facing exactly the same problem. I tried everything suggested by the technical department without any results. The only solution so far is to send the Spark to US, prepay 60$ and wait for the verdict. Damn bastards don't want to autorize a service here in Europe

Please share if you have found a solution......I am facing exactly the same problem and passed exactly the same path with the same results
