Spark Mini & App Requests
-
Having been playing with this chap for a week or so, several thoughts have come to mind in terms of moving forward.
- Spring Reverb - This seems the most surprising miss sound wise. Multiple amp models that are known significantly for having a spring reverb (Blackface and Blues Junior Fenders to name a quick two) yet no spring reverb option. The difference between the available reverbs is also remarkably subtle, this would give us some notable choice.
- 'Sets' of Hardware Presets - Building sets of four sounds for different situations and storing them somewhere in the app for one-click placement into the hardware would be very practical for those of us who play/practice music in different bands or environments. One set for acoustic music maybe, one set for bass, one set for heavy rock guitar etc etc.
- Line Out with Speakers - I don't know if this is possible, it depends on the physical design as to whether you can feed a line out and still feed the speakers, but I'd find that really useful in several situations.
- Duplicate Pedal Positions - What I mean by this is the option to have the basic delay in the Reverb slot, or the EQ pedals in the Delay slot. Not necessarily every pedal everywhere, but a few choice additional options where it wouldn't cause processing overload would add significant flexibility without requiring any more modelling R&D.
Don't get me wrong here, I am delighted with this mini beast and getting a huge boost in guitar playing inspiration from it. I do feel that several things could significantly move things on from my perspective, hopefully without too much drama.

@rex-progrock Sounds to me like you are talking Bias FX while I was talking Spark Mini. No Scenes in the Spark app that I have seen.

@rex-progrock Very true.
They also have little excuse for not putting a spring reverb model in the Spark series if they have one either. After all, it's what's in the vast majority of the amps they are modelling.....

Loving my new Mini. One small app idea:
I remember on my old Korg Pandora PX3 that when you played a song from an external source connected to the AUX jack, it could be center-cancelled to remove/reduce the sound of the guitar or vocal that was panned to the center. This might be a useful option to add when playing along with songs on a Spark amp (if not already possible within the app or Tonecloud?).
