Firmware update - No new amps?
-
I updated to v1.5.4.102, confirmed that the update was successful.
I thought there were new amp models, but I don't see them. I have 24 models, which is what I had previously:
-4 Pop, 4 Blues, 4 Rock, 4 Metal, 4 Alt, 2 Bass, 2 AcousticShould there be more that come with this update?
I don't see anything different. What's changed?
Thanks.

@mark_aller I think you'll find that some of the 24 amps required the update to activate them. Prior to the update, when selected, they gave you the message that the update was required.

@richiedx7 OK - reading the release notes - the new amps are just for the Hendrix expansion pack. Without having that expansion pack, no new amp models.
This release includes some 'performance and stability improvements.' So, if your Spark seems to be fine, no need to update the firmware.?

@mark_aller I have only had my Spark for a few days now and still finding my way around it but found there were six Hendrix amps which when selected said you had to purchase the add on then there were a few others which, when selected, said they required the firmware update before they could be used. When I updated I can now use the ones that gave the "firmware update required" message but still not the Hendrix amps as I have not purchased that add on.
You will also find that by selecting the amp (double click) on the first page when the app opens you actually have 39 amps. Six of them are the Hendrix ones. Bit confusing as as you said going through the Pop, Rock menus etc. only 24 show up. As I said I'm still trying to find my way around it. -
That helps!! Like you, I’m new to this amp, still trying to figure it out.
I’ve been using that drop down box on the top left to access amps. Never thought to double click the amp to access those other ones.

@mark_aller From what I understand the drop down box gives you sample sounds of only some of the amps. You can add sounds to these categories by creating them yourself or downloading from the tone cloud. Lots of great sounds to be found there.
I also came across a list of all of the amps. It may be useful. You can find it here.

I had the same issue and could only see 24 Amps despite having the latest firmware version. So I checked the full list that Positive Grid issued and searched for the names of the missing amps on the Tone Cloud and downloaded them and renamed back to the original and saved them to my list. Also if you check the original 24 you will see that some have been listed twice just with a different name like the Black Face Duo is called (Dancing in the Room) on the Pop list and (Blues Ark) on the Blues list so its actually less than 24. To be fair the setup out of the box is pretty poor as on the amp its listed as Clean, Glassy and Crunch but on the App its Pop, Rock and Alternative. Also how you link effects to the amps is poorly explained, there should be a separate area for amps and effects and saved tones, its all pretty confusing although I actually quite like the product itself, PG are not doing themselves any favors.
