Question about Auto Chord and importing original music
A friend of mine put together a cool 60 sec bluesy progression on piano and sent it to me as an audio file. I thought that if I imported into Apple Music and then pulled it up in my Auto Chord directory that it would figure out the chords for me... it did not. The program found something else on YouTube that seemed to match the file name I gave it.
... am I doing something wrong, or is this just the way the play-along thing works?
Thanks so much for your time.

I’m new to the Spark 40; however it appears to me that this is the way Auto Chord works. Once I figured out it’s apparent limitations, I really haven’t used it. I had an existing Apple Music Playlist containing recordings that I played along with prior to getting the Spark. When I attempted to “load” songs from my playlist, the App automatically selected YouTube or previously loaded Auto Chord songs instead of my playlist versions. I expect Positive Grid does this on purpose to limit any licensing or royalty exposure.
Thanks to a different forum, I discovered the AnyTune app, and use it for practice and play-along instead. It doesn’t figure out chords for you; however I quickly found that the Auto Chord results for my playlist songs were wrong! Chords were simplified, and in some cases the key was shifted for easier play.
Auto Chord is an interesting and useful tool, depending on what you want to learn or practice. But it doesn’t work for what I want to do…
