How to set volume for favorite tones to identical levels...
-
Ok. I have four favorite tones to play... Clean, Dirty, High Gain and Lead...
Now the problem is whatever I do I can't seem to store them to my 4 buttons on top of the amp at same level sound output.
So, let's say I am playing the clean tone, the volume feels like set to level 6 out of (1-10) possibility.
The backing track is set to level 5.
And I am as happy as I could be...
Then, I switch the lead tone for solo and volume level jumps to level 10 with a deafening squeal and ruins the moment.
Back to "unhappy"! :(Is there a way to store the different tones at the same volume levels?
I tried to set the volume level on amp and then re-store it but no success. While playing when I switch between again volume for one tone is 5 (my ideal setting) and then switching to other takes it up to 10 (horrifically loud like an explosion) and switching the third tone takes it down to 3(can't even hear it over the backing track played by the app).
Help please...

@capt-jdavis Edit each tone in the app so the volumes are the same and be sure to save each tone back to your device. Changes you make while the tone is showing on your screen disappear when you switch to a different tone unless you have saved it before changing tones. Then once you've got them all set to the level you want for each one, save them to the four presets on the amp and you should be all set.

I’m totally new to Spark presets so I need some more details/advice. How do you edit each tone preset without an Output knob to adjust? Do you have to change Gain & Master settings? I’d think that would affect the overall preset tone itself. Same with tweaking pedal level settings.

@dan-lawrence The Master knob is the one to adjust in the app. The Gain setting is very important to the tone, but the Master is less important with regards to the tone but very important to the volume coming out of the amp. Essentially what you have to do with any tone you like initially but find too loud or too soft is to play around with the settings until you're satisfied both with the tone and with the volume level. Then be sure to save it to your device so that the next time you call that tone up it will still have the volume level you set. If you want to save it to one of the 4 presets on the amp itself so that you don't need to use the app if you don't want to, that's fine.
On the other hand you don't have to do any of that if you don't want to -- just load a new tone into the app and before playing a note on your guitar/bass immediately move the Master knob on the amp. Turn it up and then turn it right back down to the level you want and it will override the setting in the app. Or before trying a new tone, turn the Output knob all the way down and then slowly raise it again to a usable level.
There is a lot that can be done with the Spark40 amp and app that can be overwhelming as we try to find our own work-flow to arrive at tones we like with settings we can use without having neighbors complaining or without our spouses threatening divorce after we've accidentally awakened the kids for the third time in the same evening while trying out new tones.

@dhbailey
Thank you for the quick and detailed response! I didn’t realize that the Output Knob worked similar to the other knobs with a preset.
