Noise only when I play the guitar.is the ground problem
-
Hi, sorry for my English..
I've a problem with spark.I've a noise only when I play the note on the guitar (when the strings vibrate).
When I plug the guitar and I don't touch nothing, there is no noise...
Is it the ground problem that I read in the forum, or it's something different?
Moreover something if I lower the to 3/4 the guitar Volume, some strings non play in spark, others yes(bass) I've to restart the spark...
;(
Any help, please?
I've last firmware

@coloxim
seems to have too high levels of noisegate
set it lower -
@coloxim Plug the usb into a computer and it should stop the noise. Its a ground issue. Why they havent started sending out grounded power supplies is beyond me. The only other option is to ground it yourself which requires drilling a hole in the amp and adding a wire or finding a grounded power supply. My amp has the same issue. Looking for another power supply while I just use the USB method.

@chritopher144 Or submit a support ticket explaining the problem and asking they to send you a grounded power supply. Or buy your own grounded power supply. Look for a 3-prong plug to plug into the wall, make sure it is tip-positive, 19v, 2.4amp (minimum), and the plug that goes into the Spark can be 5.5mmx2.5mm (according to some people) or 5.5mmx2.1mm (according to other people). It seems that both of those plug sizes seem to fit. Be sure if you buy a grounded power supply through Amazon that there is no pin in the center of the plug that goes into the Spark amp.

Update:
With noise gate the things go Little bit better.
But I solve the problem with USB metod..
It's a ground problem...I I've opened a ticket...we will see...
Anyway the engineers don't know ground's problem?
Bah....

@coloxim apparently not everybody has the ground problem. Some people have said that if they plug their amp into a surge protector they don't have the problem. Others plug right into their wall outlets and don't have the ground problem.

@dhbailey tomorrow I'll check better...
I'm not sure is ok 100%..
Anyway my microcube cost 150 Euro less and doesn't have any noise problem...😝😝😝
But you hear the noise only when you play or if you just plug the guitar?
Because without noise gate I hear the rustle of the differents amp...with noise gate I hear noise anly when the strings vibes..
With microcube nothing...Anyway I prefer don't use noise gate, because seems it cuts some notes...I really don't know how use it very well..

Most of the hum disappears when using a grounded power supply.
What is left of unwanted background noise can be further reduced by activating the noise gate. Important ... only activate but leave threshold on the far left, otherwise you kill the sound.
What is coming now is my guess. If we use presets that simply bring more background noise (high gain, many effects, many midds, compressor or tubescreamer wide open), the NG suppresses them. However, only until a tone is played. The sound is passed through, so to speak, but with it also the background noises. This results in a constant on / off that is annoying.
Fortunately, in my experience, it's only extremely annoying with some presets. I can live with most of them. But with some it is actually so annoying that I prefer to skip the NG and thus prefer a disturbing continuous humming level to the constant on / off.
I think with the preset "Hendrix & SRV" you should hear that effect quite well.

Thanks for the info...I've to do more tests...I'm no expert...
