BIAS FX 2 Will not launch on desktop
-
After multiple attempts on trying to run Bias FX 2 Standalone, nothing has worked yet.
-
Which version of BIAS FX 2 are you running?
Which OS? -
I'm running the newest version of BIAS FX 2 available, and I'm running it on Windows 10 Pro.
-
@seanboyle2005 Ok, only difference for me is Win 10 Home.
Have you changed audio interfaces?
What exactly happens when you launch FX 2 standalone? -
How did you solve the problem?
-
@myxolydian How did you solve the problem?
-
@zolotce666 I wasn't having a problem, just trying to help the OP.
I don't know if they solved it or not. -
Just purchased the program today. I've reinstalled the program several times, and moved the program to different hard drives/ SSDs. It worked once with an alternate drive, but now continues to fail to launch. No solution yet. Hoping to hear if anyone has solved this issue. (Windows 10 home).

@nicholas_c
To add, BIAS Pedal app works well, opens without issue. It seems it's bias FX alone to be doing this (latest version only from what I know). I also noticed uninstalling the program does not deactivate the licence code, which could be part of the issue. No present work about at this time. -
I had the same issue with getting Bias FX 2 to load. Would simply crash without even opening the program window. Turned out it had to do with the audio driver that Bias was attempting to load (and failing at) by default.
You can try loading it inside a DAW so that it forces Bias to use the correct driver.
Also make sure that if you're not using an audio interface, and just your computer's soundcard, download the latest ASIO4ALL driver.

Same here, no problem with bias amp and bias pedal...
But bias fx seems it does not want to launch.
Not even showing in VST plugins in Ableton... (Bias amp and pedal shows up) -
Work only with 32bits version on a Windows 10 64bits...
-
@g-miraillet I'm having the same issue. The standalone is not working and it does not show in Ableton Live 10 plugins.
-
same issue here, no matter if I choose the 64bits or the 32bits versions...
-
Same for me. Won’t load as vst nor stand alone. No luck with 32 nor 64 but or bias pedals. Should I really use asio4all? It seems desperate.

Problem solved ! Thanx Bias FX for the support (Dans).
The main point for me was the 4)1). Rename the BIAS_FX2 folder in Documents/PositiveGrid to "BIAS_FX2 backup"
2). Delete BIAS FX2.settings at
Windows
%APPDATA%\PositiveGrid\BIAS FX2.settingsAPPDATA might be a hidden folder on your PC, please refer to the link below
https://www.pcworld.com/article/2690709/windows/whats-in-the-hidden-windows-appdata-folder-and-how-to-find-it-if-you-need-it.html3). Go to Windows Setting -> Sound, and make sure both Output and Input devices are selected.
Ideally they should be assigned to your audio interface, but you can also use the computer's built-in sound card.
Also, in Windows Sound Control Panel, please go to Properties -> Advance page for each device, and check everything's using the same buffer size and sample rate.
4). Make sure all cloud-based services (Google Drive, One Drive, etc) are disabled for Documents folder & Desktop on your PC.
