Midi FCB1010
-
Hi, I’m new to Positive Grid. I just got Bias FX Essential on my iPad and I can’t see how to use my FCB1010 expression pedal on it. Am I missing something? Cheers, Will

Hi there! I also have a MIDI problem but different to yours!
It may not work with your version. The top of the tutorial states "Please note: MIDI control support is only available in the Pro version of BIAS FX. You will need to upgrade from Standard to Professional in order to use this feature. Please refer to BIAS FX Comparison Chart"
Hope this helps

@gary_wainwright_uk he is using an iPad not the standalone desktop version -
@scottguitars - you need to connect the pedal via usb to your iPad and make sure it is controlling some other app, if so it will just be a matter of setting biasFX to "enable midi control" and set the channel to the channel you are sending on (or use omni/all) should work fine after that - any other issues ask @pipelineaudio for help he uses that pedal - cheers

See if you can see it in MIDI mttr https://apps.apple.com/us/app/midimittr/id925495245

@tafkad Thank you. I'll give it a try. :)

@pipelineaudio Thank you. The reviews look very good. Thanks for the pointer. Cheers, W.

@gary_wainwright_uk Thanks Gary. I did see something along those lines. I'm a bit disappointed that I may have to upgrade already especially as they include Wah-Wah and Volume pedals in my license.....pretty useless without use of an expression pedal.

Wow, talk about a trip down memory lane...I haven't touched my FCB1010 in probably a decade! I even have the mod chip installed (Uno, I think it was called?). I would use it to get "artificial artificial" harmonics by pressing a button to quickly go up one or two octaves (the mod chip was needed so that the effect goes away as soon as you take your foot off the button), and to trigger sound effects that I now just put into backing tracks.

Whoa! I didnt know the Uno could do momentary!
Kind of crazy to think just how old this model is, just how often it is out of stock and how there seems to many to be no real modern alternative for it
Sometime this week I will be gutting one of these and the new key nanostudio so I can make a wireless version of the FCB1010 using the Nono's software and hardware. It wont be as programmable in the same way, but if it works well, maybe I'll see if theres a way to create a programmer for it
