Spark vs Bias FX
-
What, if any, is the difference in sound quality of tones between these two?
Is it Bias FX in a box? -
Can someone please answer this?
If you’re just interested in tones and cloud access is there any reason to buy Spark?
I have jamup and not too impressed but biasFX demo seems better Sound to me, obviously need to buy the full pack to get all the tones to work.
In other words as far as tone is concerned if you plied headphones into Spark or iPad wiry biasFX, would they sound the same!

I think it is a different interface entirely and it's not compatible with the bias amps created but im not sure. I did hear the app is different though.
Sounds are probably better as there wouldn't be any sort of latency issues as it'd go directly out.which actually whatever is inside the spark box is what I need for my BIAS FX2 instead of playing in a DAW or headphones. I wanna hear it LOUD to a cab.

@agjones I have used Bias FX in the iPad and have the Spark Amp. They are quite different. Bias FX has a lot more customization, whereas Spark has a more limited selection of effects. It's hard for me to compare the sound because Spark is sounding through a built in speaker. If i use Bias FX with a computer monitor, it's hard to tell how much the difference in tone can be attributed to the difference between the monitor and the built in speaker in the Spark. So far I like that Spark is very easy and convenient to use. I would like more customization but for now I am happy. You can't use bluetooth pedal boards with Spark either. I think Spark is mainly a practice solution. If you want a more robust solution, probably Bias FX along with good computer monitors would work better.

Yes, It's exactley how Jonathan just explained. Spark is Great but when it comes to recording sounds it's a pain...Spark rely on its own system and it's quite "closed" I've tried to figure out how to record using a DAW and it does record as a matter of fact but only your guitar playing (not the virtual drummer nor music at all, I guess for copyright reasons...) But it's the best thing ever invented for practicing with you guitar with great guitar sounds and at lowr volume!

I have been using Bias FX on my iPad for several years. It is the main way that i play my guitar. I have my ipad hooked into an iTrack Solo from FocusRite which then feeds into 2 speaker monitors. The main downside here was that there was no Bluetooth connection between the ipad and iTrack Solo so i have to use FocusRite propritary lightening connection wire. Also, BiasFX always defaults to channel 1 and I have to manually change it to channel 2 or none of the effects will work. I bought the Spark because it sounded pretty cool and eliminated the need for the focusrite interface. I saw that someone had hooked the Spark into his speaker monitors which i think just used the headphone jack as the out. No RCA outs on Spark to external speakers? What i was not sure about was how many of the effects that i have in my Bias FX were included in the Spark? This thread seems to indicate that at this point, Spark has a greatly diminished selection of effects compared to Bias FX. I suppose they will release updates and my guess is that they will charge for the upgrades. I am not interested in recording. I just practice using Bias FX. It is purely for my own enjoyment. So i guess that Spark will simplify my life and open up some new doors in learning. At $224, it seemed like a good deal.
