Sorry I have to keep adding new posts, something with the forum software is making it impossible to type after hitting return without it erasing earlier spots today.
Here was some playing with it on the craptop
@seticat said in Celestion Modern/Vintage IR tab gone!?!:
I compared the specs between the BA2 packages pretty much as soon as the announcement was made and it was pretty clear (to me at least) that the modern Celestion IRs would not be included. I did have the opportunity to beta test the software before release and had a chance to mess around with all the IRs. I tend to stick the the Greenbacks, so for me the Elite program pretty much met my needs (plus some). As for the $100 increase between Pro and Elite, I paid it. Here is why: Integration. I have some of the official Celestion IRs (purchased online at the Celestion page). I loaded those into BA1 and BA2 and really liked what I was hearing. They are not cheap to purchase, but if all you want is one type of cab, that may be the option for you. Once I got BA2 Pro, I loaded the 4x12 Celestion IR into program. Sounded nice, but based on my experiences beta testing, not as nice as the integrated Celestion 4x12 in BA2. The ease of use in BA2 really helped seal the deal as well. I recall paying about $11 for just the 4x12 Celestion Greenback cab. That's one cab. In BA2 I have five speaker options and 3 cab settings (plus open and closed backs). I was able to dial up killer tones right away too. So that's my experience.
Now, on to the real question. How much longer do we have to wait for integration of Bias FX with BA2. I need my pedals!
I agree. It's a great deal! And I too already own the only four Celestion® IR's I'd ever need. I'd check out the Red Wirez collection of free IR's of a 4X12 w/25wGreenbacks with like 15 different classic mics. Neuman, Royer, Shure, Etc,.). there's a few more that are just as useful as the band names - in fact I've found many free IR's OF Celestion speakers that actually sound better than Celestions® themselves. Ok, that's enough advertising for another company here. (Sorry, P.G. overlords! jk ))
@tafkad His actual website? (I don't think I've seen it..), but I know he JUST updated it a few days ago for BA 2. Also talk of Windows capable too. I'd go to the App Store and see if it's still up there. Should be like $20. Thanks!
@matt-val Yeah, thanks, man! Idk what the hell happened, but I put it down, came back to it, start A/Bing again, and they started to sound fine, and like I said: there are a few amps that have a dark, high-end roll-off thing happening(?) It's the mic placement. But that's it, no EQ or gain changes! If you experience 'the darkness", move the mic closer to the cap, if not directly hovering over it. Not sure what's up with that calibration. I'm sure all these things and more will be fixed in due time.
@sascha-ballweg said in Update Message in BIAS Amp 2 Mac_v2_0_0_608 for a new version 2.0.1:
... oh, and a option to store a note, similar to the description in the Tonecloud would be very handy!
Preferably a C-sharp / D-flat.
@bradley_ames75 You can get the Pro version and be fine. But don't skimp on the Std version! It doesn't give you half of the goodies! You can always upgrade to Elite later. And by "goodies' I mean things like extra pre/power amps, IR loader, and most importantly: Ampmatch™
I haven't tested this as I don't own a BT4 but if it's connected to an iDevice, and the iDevice is either plugged into your MBP or connected over BT with your MBP the BT4 MIDI should make it to the MBP...it's a long and slightly ridiculous workaround but I think it would probably work. Anybody tried this?
Thank you - I "repaired" the installation after a bit of kerfuffle to get it to find the .msi it had just downloaded - didn't seem to make any difference whatever to the files but sure enough Cubase now fires up just fine and I can get my tones into my new project - so thank you for that.
Yes dg20. I changed the mother of toilet seat pickguard for a standard one. Well I use a bt2 pedal and I connect the m audio pedal to it, and calibrate with the app for the bt pedal. On an iPad obviously
I got a copy of Bias Amp 1.5.1 and it fixes my problems. From just listening, it seems like my tone has less gain in 1.5.1 so I'm not sure that it was a noise gate change or an amp change that caused the difference.
I couldn't find where the tone files are saved locally or I'd upload a copy for anyone that was interested.
Part of why we can’t sleep at night is that in reaper, assignment of key commands, even functions related to how keys are input, macros, scripting, communication with other programs and plugins are all, most decidedly NOT assigned during development!
In fact ridiculous amounts of development time are spent on making sure as little of this as possible is assigned in development. Different people use different solutions, but there’s nothing physical to stop them from allowing custom key commands, or even macros and scripts. (I can think of some serious Bradshaw Board level functions that could be scripted in or maybe even macrod in, if the macros could be assigned to a midi cc or pc number)!
@sascha-ballweg Yeah, they are way behind on tickets, too. I have had a a couple sit way longer than their usual response time. I am sure it is due to all the stuff going on after the '2' roll out.
@Joe-Kuo and @Felix
The issue here does not necessarily have to be first priority as I know there are other bugs in the initial release (I've reported some! ) and customers want the Bias 2 hardware support, the second celestion pack, the elite preset pack, and FX integration. So, I think most users here get all of that and it makes sense.
BUT in my opinion this needs to be treated as an eventual must update kind of issue in a future release once the dust settles a bit.
By forcing the amp settings they are not only reducing the accuracy of the match feature they are also limiting what you can do with it (match preamps, match cabinets, etc). I would have envisioned a button that just says 'current' or something in addition to the category buttons. It's easier to use but gives up way too much in terms of accuracy and capability.
